The role and the team

We are looking for a Software Test Engineer to join our QA Team and to reinforce our team working on the renewing Visual Components platform and building future-proof features that will enable our product to grow. 
We support your decision if you wish to work remotely while located in Finland.

The team members work as members of the software development teams and also have their own QA team’s development goals. The QA team members share tasks with each other to encourage learning in different areas and to make the team(s) more adaptable. The software development teams use Scrum and comprise of developers, a testing engineer, and a product owner.

You will make an impact by

The main tasks in our QA are manual testing, developing scripts for e.g., UI test automation, developing testing practices, and collaborating with developers. Software developers will still be writing their unit tests and other test automation.

Being a part of our Platform team you will be testing complex desktop systems, including API and UI testing, testing of data systems, and back-end features (loading, saving, accessing, data management)

You have strong problem-solving skills, an analytical mindset, and an eye for the details. We are looking for someone who has the willingness and attitude to learn a new business domain and deepen their skills in testing and using test automation technology. What counts, is passion for learning and developing!

Technologies and skills important in this team

• Long-term hands-on experience in testing complex desktop systems (engineering software, CAD software, 3D software, simulation games, and similar) is a must-have for this role 
• Experience with API testing. Basic knowledge of Python and C# is a strong advantage 
• Experience with UI testing

• Strong communication skills 
• Problem-solving skills
• Deep logical thinking: the ability to decompose a complex problem, find a route cause of the issue, and suggest solutions based on the available data 

 

• Fluent English skills, both written and spoken 
• We appreciate relevant educational background e.g., a bachelor’s degree in automation technology, robotics, electrical engineering, computer science, or information technology - but this is not mandatory in case you have learned the skills some other way
