Our Headquarters is in Espoo, Finland and we have branches in Indiana, US, and Munich, Germany. Our team of 24 nationalities and global partner network make Visual Components a truly international company.

The role and the team

We are looking for a Cloud Software Engineer to join a newly established team working on building cloud functionality for our products. The new team will lead the way in building, transforming, and integrating product features on cloud platform. By leveraging Azure Cloud, the team will help us provide new opportunities and innovations to our customers.

The team members work together on shared goals and are the owners of the team's product area. All our teams also take care of our platform’s upkeep and architecture together with neighboring teams.   
You would join our team located in Espoo and Tampere, but we support you if you want to work remotely from any other place in Finland.

Your impact

As a Cloud Software Engineer, you will design and implement secure, scalable, and cost-effective cloud solutions, enabling seamless integration between desktop and cloud systems and driving product innovation.

Key responsibilities:

Develop cloud-native features and services with a focus on performance and cost efficiency.
Integrate desktop applications with cloud platforms for seamless user experiences.
Design secure, scalable architectures following OWASP ASVS and NIST guidelines.
Optimize database schemas and implement efficient data access patterns for relational and document databases.
Build robust system and service integrations to support cloud operations.
Monitor, troubleshoot, and enhance cloud services to ensure reliability.

The skills you will bring

We are seeking a person with a strong attitude towards collaborative work, who is not afraid to be proactive, bold to bring up their own opinions, eager to work on various tasks and take ownership of work. What counts, is passion for learning and developing! 

Skills important for this role:

We work with Microsoft technologies and tools.
Strong experience with C# and .NET is mandatory.
Familiarity with Azure Cloud (preferred) or other cloud platforms.
Experience building cloud-native solutions and desktop-to-cloud integrations.
Knowledge of C++ is beneficial to work with desktop code.
Expertise in designing secure, cost-efficient code for the cloud.
Proficiency in database design (relational and document) and system/service integration.
Knowledge of secure software development practices (OWASP ASVS, NIST).
