Visual Components is a leading provider of advanced manufacturing simulation solutions, committed to innovation and excellence in delivering flexible, high-quality products for a diverse global market. As we expand our capabilities, the Product Infra Team is being established to drive the modularity, scalability, and quality of our product offerings. At the center of this effort, the Product Owner works in close partnership with the Engineering Lead (EL)—from shaping the vision to overseeing daily operations—ensuring our product infrastructure supports current needs and future innovation.
The role and the team
The Product Owner for the Product Infra Team is responsible for defining and prioritizing the roadmap that enables modular installation, licensing, build pipelines, and related end user workflows. This includes overseeing the evolution of our current product structure and supporting the introduction of new variants and add-ons—whether developed internally or in partnership with others. The Product Owner acts as the primary bridge between stakeholders, translating business needs into actionable technical objectives, and collaborates hand-in-hand with the Engineering Lead throughout the lifecycle.
Your impact
Vision and Roadmap: Jointly with the Engineering Lead (EL), develop and maintain a clear vision for product infrastructure, focusing on modular architecture and the seamless integration of both in-house and partner-driven extensions, ensuring constant alignment between product and engineering perspectives.
Backlog Management: Define, prioritize, and refine the product backlog to ensure it delivers value, supports quality and efficiency, and anticipates future requirements from a modularity perspective. Backlog refinement is carried out in close collaboration with the EL to ensure technical feasibility and alignment.
Product Build Stewardship: In partnership with the Engineering Lead, take ownership of the product build pipeline, ensuring that project structure remains modular, supports efficient team workflows, and can accommodate evolving product requirements.
Stakeholder Collaboration: Facilitate structured communication and close collaboration with white label partners, sales, the simulation expert teams, and especially with the Quality Assurance (QA) team (a key stakeholder due to its responsibility for release management and ensuring overall product quality). The EL is jointly involved in key stakeholder discussions, particularly where technical and architectural decisions intersect with business needs.
Quality Advocacy: Champion high quality across all product variants and add-ons by setting standards, monitoring outcomes, and working with the team to address issues proactively—especially for products delivered to white label partners. Quality advocacy is a joint effort with the EL, especially regarding technical implementation and continuous improvement.
3rd Party Component Management: Incorporate and maintain third-party components within all product variants and add-ons, ensuring their ongoing quality and legal compliance. This includes maintaining an up-to-date software bill of materials (SBOM) for every product variant and add-on to facilitate transparency and legal validation throughout the product lifecycle. The EL shares responsibility for the technical integration and ongoing maintenance of these components.
