The role and the team
We are looking for a Technical Content Specialist to join the Visual Components Simulation Experts team in Espoo, Finland. 
 
In this role, you will help us educate our customers and partners from around the world, on how to use and take advantage of Visual Components products. You will create both written and video tutorials for the Visual Components Academy website, training materials, and product documentation.You will work closely with other Technical Content specialists and technical product experts and engineers.In our journey, we care for and support each other and are not afraid to ask questions and reach out to others when we need help. 
 
The position is located at the Visual Components headquarters in Espoo, but we support your decision if you wish to work remotely while residing anywhere in Finland.
You will make an impact by
  • Creating written tutorials with visuals in addition to video tutorials;
  • Creating informative yet interesting video tutorials for Visual Components users all around the world;
  • Editing video tutorials to appear on the Visual Components Academy website as well as on the Visual Components YouTube channel;
  • Writing and maintaining our product documentation;
  • Managing translation or documentation together with an external translation company;
  • Working with the team of Simulation Experts to plan and design the new content.
You will succeed in a role if
  • You are a team player with a curious mind and a self-driven attitude;
  • You are motivated to learn new technologies and tools andacquire new skills;

  • You have hands-on skillsin either technical writing or software tutorial video content creation and are willing to learn the skills to do both. Below you will find our requirements for both parts.   

Video content creation skills: 
Experience in creating video content using screen capture software;Understanding what the structure of an effective software tutorial video should be;Skills in creating scripts used to plan video production;Skills in working with screen capturing software (e.g. OBS or similar);Experience in audio narration using a microphone;Hands-on skills with tools for video editing (Camtasia or similar, e.g.Adobe Premier Pro, Final Cut Pro X, DaVinci Resolve). 
Technical writing skills: 
Ability to write clearly, concisely,and accurately;Ability to organize information in a logical wayand present it in a style appropriate to the audience; Deep understanding of technical terminology and concepts;Experience in writing software documentation;Experience in using Help Authoring Tools (e.g. Adobe RoboHelp or similar)  
Other skills important for the role: 
  • English language skills (written and verbal) at a high professional level (C1 in CEFR framework and higher);
  • Ability to gather information from a variety of sources, including subject matter experts, technical documentation, and the internet;
  • Attention to detail.
