Visual Components is a software company with operations around the world. The company develops tools designed to assist teams involved in manufacturing projects, facilitating the process from concept to implementation. These tools enable companies to test ideas in a virtual setting and obtain proof of concept prior to making investment decisions. 

Our software is developed utilizing C++, C#, .NET, Azure Cloud, and various Microsoft technologies to deliver a robust and scalable 3D simulation platform. Although our primary focus has been desktop applications, we are currently transitioning our platform to the cloud as part of a broader strategic transformation. Visual Components software provides customers with sophisticated tools to design production lines, simulate and analyze workflow, execute virtual commissioning projects, and program industrial robots. The software features intuitive and visually oriented interfaces, combining ease of use with advanced capabilities.

Our development teams employ contemporary methodologies to ensure reliability, efficiency, and scalability. We operate within a collaborative environment that fosters growth and enables team members to contribute meaningfully to the advancement of manufacturing technology.

Our Headquarters is in Espoo, Finland and we have offices in US, Germany, and Japan. Our global partner network and team of over 24 nationalities make Visual Components a truly international company.
The role and the team
The Product Owner plays a pivotal role within a defined product area, working in close partnership with the Engineering Lead to co-lead the product team. They are responsible for maximising the value delivered by the team by ensuring clarity of priorities and alignment with customer and business needs. Acting as the voice of the customer and stakeholders, the Product Owner ensures the team is focused on solving the right problems. This role emphasises backlog ownership, iterative delivery, and stakeholder collaboration, with responsibility scoped to the product area rather than the entire portfolio.

Reports to: Head of Product Management or equivalent
Direct Reports: None directly (influence across cross-functional team within product area)
Key Stakeholders: Engineering Leads, UX/UI Designers, QA, Sales, Marketing, Customer Success, Executive Leadership
Your impact
  • Customer & Market Insight: Continuously gather and communicate customer needs, market trends, and competitive insights relevant to the product area.
  • Vision & Strategy Alignment: Collaborate with stakeholders to define and communicate the vision and strategic objectives for the product area, ensuring alignment with company goals.
  • Backlog Ownership: Own and manage the product backlog for the product area. Prioritise work based on customer value, business impact, and technical feasibility in collaboration with the Engineering Lead.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with Engineering Lead, UX/UI, QA, and other functions to ensure shared understanding and delivery of valuable outcomes.
  • Product Discovery: Lead or support discovery activities including research, prototyping, testing, and validation to ensure the team builds the right solutions.
  • Outcome Orientation: Define and track success metrics for initiatives in the product area. Ensure delivery is measured against customer and business impact.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Communicate goals, progress, and results transparently to stakeholders, leadership, and customers where appropriate.
  • Continuous Improvement: Foster a culture of learning and iteration, promoting data-driven decision making and improving team practices.
The skills you will bring
  • Experience in product ownership or product management, preferably in software or technology companies.
  • Proven ability to manage a product backlog and drive iterative delivery.
  • Strong skills in customer discovery, prioritisation, and agile planning.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Analytical mindset and data-driven decision-making capabilities.
  • Collaborative approach and ability to co-lead effectively with Engineering Lead and cross-functional teams.
  • Degree in Business, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field is preferred.
